Labuan Bajo is small tourist town, located on west part of Flores Island. This town has been growing become an international town since tourists from all over the world come to visit Komodo dragon. There are hotel, hostels, bar, cafe, and restaurant in Labuan Bajo which easily can find along the road.

Herewith I would like to write several Things You Should Know About Labuan Bajo.

1. Airport

There is an airport in Labuan Bajo which called Komodo Airport. There are several flights to Labuan Labuan Bajo from different city such as Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, and Lombok. If you would like to come to Labuan Bajo, you are easy to book the flight through some airlines: Garuda Indonesia, Batik Air, Lion Air, and Air Asia. The distance of Komodo Airport to the town center is about 20 minutes drive. Almost just in a blink of an eye, you will reach the town.

2. Transportation

Local people mostly use motorcycle as transportation tool. So, there are so many motorcycle in Labuan Bajo. Beside this mass transportation, there are bus and small cars used as transportation vehicle. Bus used only for inter town connection. Small cars usually used for tourism affair. If you are a tourist, local driver will offer you this small car.

3. Local People

Florenese  people are always smile to foreigners. They are open to each visitor and easily give help if you are in need. Do not hesitate to interact with local people of Labuan Bajo if you want to know more about this place.

4. Culinary

Typical food of Labuan Bajo is sea food. There is a place called Kampung Ujung where you can find sea food. This place open since 18:00 pm - 24:00 pm. High quality food with cheaper price might be a good combination to minimize your budget.

5. Soekarno Hatta Road

Only one road leads you to the town center. This road also connecting to the port. Hotels, dive shops, TIC are in this road. I am sure, you will not get lost when you vist Labuan Bajo. If you feel lost, just stand on the side walk ask people which direction to should go. Local people always happy to help you.

Labuan Bajo in Frames: A Recent Quick Report in the Town Center

Today we have just riding around Labuan Bajo town center. Since two weeks ago there was no rain, thus it feels now hotter than before.  Though, people still in their work under the sun, seems enjoying their daily activity all time. Proud of them! This year, dry season longer than last year. By this month last year, it was the beginning of rainy season. This might be affected by the climate changes which caused by the land fire and forest fire and other natural disasters.
