Naungan Si Naga Purba yang Menghijau

Hujan sudah sering mengguyuri Labuan Bajo di bulan Desember ini. Kulit tanah yang telah sekian lama dahaga, kini dilumuri air hujan. 

Tunas-tunas kehidupan baru mulai tumbuh dari tanah ini. Pelan-pelan, padang gersang menghijau. Pohon-pohon berganti warna. Segalanya menjadi hijau.
Dalam sebuah jadwal tour tanggal 18 Desember, saya membawa rombongan wisatawan nusantara mengelilingi Taman Nasional Komodo.

Dari dalam kapal, kami menyaksikan punggung-punggung pulau yang menghijau. Semak belukar di Pulau Kelor menumbuhkan tunas-tunas baru dan mengubah kegersangan pulau kecil nan indah ini.

Pada hari kedua, kami tiba di Pulau Komodo. Rombongan tour ini terkesima dengan cerita tentang leluhur orang-orang Komodo . Sepanjang perjalanan, saya menceritakan legenda Komodo: tentang One dan Sebae, leluhur bangsa Komodo. 

Konon, berdasarkan kisah yang tertulis, Sebae dan One adalah anak kembar Epa. Epa ini adalah istri Hamid; seorang pemuda tampan yang disiksa rasa sedih menjelang kelahiran anak mereka.
Setelah menginjakkan kaki di Pulau Komodo, mereka tak sabar ingin melihat sang naga purba ini. Dalam perjalanan trekking, bertemulah mereka dengan Komodo. 

Rasa rindu mereka terobati saat mata mereka menyaksikan binatang purba ini benar-benar berada 3 meter di hadapan mereka.
Musim hujan juga telah mengubah warna Loh Liang ini. Pohon-pohon lebih hijau dari biasanya. Pohon-pohon di sini menjadi salah satu tempat bagi Komodo untuk bernaung.

Di kala panas matahari menyengat, Komodo akan bersembunyi di bawah rindangnya pepohonan. Selain Komodo, rusa dan babi hutan mudah mendapatkan makanan saat musim hujan.

Di bawah rindangnya pepohonan ini, satwa penghuni pulau Komodo bermetamorfosis untuk mengekalkan rangkaian cerita tentang Sang Naga purba Komodo.*

Labuan Bajo in Frames: A Recent Quick Report in the Town Center

Today we have just riding around Labuan Bajo town center. Since two weeks ago there was no rain, thus it feels now hotter than before.  Though, people still in their work under the sun, seems enjoying their daily activity all time. Proud of them! This year, dry season longer than last year. By this month last year, it was the beginning of rainy season.
